let’s start our dive into the 3ds’s library with mario. nintendo is obviously home to my favorite italian plumber; he even introduced the 3DS to us. from the very first 1983 game to the 2019 remake of bowser’s inside story, there’s plenty of mario to play: mario platformers, mario rpgs, mario party, mario sports, mario kart and everything you could think of

the 3DS can play every classic 2D zelda and a few 3D ones, including two very highly rated games: the legend of zelda majora’s mask and the legend of zelda ocarina of time, the latter considered by many (and me as well) to be not only the best zelda game in the series, but also one of the best games of all time

three entries to the animal crossing series can be played, with animal crossing new leaf in particular being considered by many to be the best in series; i agree and the 500+ hours i’ve spent on it can confirm it. i’ve spent lots of time on the other two as well and this series is just so special and nostalgic to me

every pre-switch mainline game from the first generation until the seventh generation can be played!! on this very console we saw pokémon turn 3D in a mainline game for the first time

in 2013, and it’s something i’ll never forget. there’s also a wide selection of spin-offs to play that differ severely from the mainline titles, notably the pokémon mystery dungeon series

final fantasy games up until the VI can be played. the DS brought back III and IV by giving them amazing remakes in 3D, and the originals are also available on the 3DS to enjoy these games in 2D. there’s also a bunch of sequels and spin-offs, including a rhythm game
